At the home of her friends, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Riddlebarger, while seemingly in best of health and spirits Miss Nannie Hanna dropped dead last Sunday afternoon. She had come to the Riddlebarger home in the forenoon to spend the day and had talked and joiked as usual with some of the neighbors who had come in during the day. In the afternoon one of the neighbor women hhad just left the house and Mrs. Riddlebarger and Nannie were alone when Miss Hanna got up from the rocking chair and walked tothe dresser as she got up from her chair she said, "Now my head hurts," and when she got to the dresser she fell and expired instantly. Mrs. Riddlebarger thought she had fainted but when she attempted to give assistance found it was too late. She was shocked and excited until she hardly realized what she was doing, but opened a window and called for help and neighbors hurried in to give assistance. Nannie Jane Hanna was born in Taylor County, Ky Nov 9, 1882 and was past 28 years of age when she died. Her father died before she was born. Early in life she came to this community and made her home with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Wyatt. After their death she made her home with Walter RIddlebarger and wife for a time but for more than two years she had lived with Mr. and Mrs. Thomas M. Rose. Mrs. Rose pays this tribue: "Those who knew Nannie best loved her most. She was ever willing to help the weak and the afflicted and was always generous and kind. In the two years that she lived in our home I never saw her angry or heard her speak an impatient or unkind word of anyone. She was a conscientious, noble, good girl and was a friend to all. She has gone to the bright world where sorrow and death can not come. We will miss the sunshine of her presence in our home." Nannie leaves a mother, Mrs. James Davis, two half sisters and four half-brothers. The funeral exercises at the Riddlebarger home were conducted Tuesday morning by Rev. JD Ulay of the Presbyterian Church and burial was at Stoner cemetery. - kbz
