Mr. Hanna (Henry Clay Hanna) died at his home in Terre Haute, Tuesday afternoon. He was born near this place March 23, 1844. He attended the Academy and when 18, enlisted in the army and served two years. He has been in the livery business in Waveland, Rockville, Sullivan and Terre Haute and was an extensive dealer in horses and mules. He has been an active worker in the Republican party. He was a brother of T. L. Hanna. - kbz

“H. C. Hanna, well known in this county, died at his home in Terre Haute at 6:45 last evening, age 66. He was born near Waveland and spent much of his life there and in Rockville, but for the past 14 years has lived in Terre Haute where he served as commissioner of Vigo county and engaged in the livery stable and horse buying business. In this he became widely known. During the Civil war he served in Co. B 78th Ind., being discharg¬ed after two years service on account of illness. He married Miss Phronia Russell who with two sons, Scott and Hubert, survive him. The body will arrive here Friday afternoon at 1:30 p. m.” - kbz

EE Hanna, grocer of this city, has gone
to Terre Haute to attend the funeral of his uncle, H.C. Hanna a former resident
of this city who died Tuesday evening at 6:30 o’clock at his home there. Miss
Nannie Hanna of this city was a niece of the deceased man. Mr. Hanna lived in
Crawfordsville about 25 years ago. At the time he was connected with the livery
and bus line business conducted by James J. insley and James Green. Since going
to Terre Haute he served for a term as county commissioner. – kbz
