Hankins - Orpha

Orpha Hankins, relict of the late John L. Hankins, who died three years ago, passed away at her home in Waynetown at noon last Thursday.
She had been in feeble health for several years and January 22 fell down and broke a leg. The shock was too much for her and she never rallied. The funeral occurred last Saturday morning at ten o’clock at Waynetown and the interment was in the Masonic Cemetery at Crawfordsville.
Mrs. Hankins was one of the oldest and most highly respected women of Montgomery County and until her husband’s death lived with him on a farm in Ripley Township. Since that time she has made her home in Waynetown.
She leaves seven children all of whom were with her at the end. They are Mrs. Myrick S. Smith, Mrs. Asher Wert, and Mrs. G. H. Barton, of Crawfordsville, Mrs. Caroline Brown, of Waynetown, Albert Hankins, of New Market, T. D. Hankins, of New Ross, and Alexander Hankins, of Boswell. -s
