At 5:30 o’clock Sunday afternoon Francis M. Hankins, aged 87 years, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Albert Wilkinson 501 east College street, after a long illness with a complication of diseases. The funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 and burial will be made at Oak Hill Cemetery. If Mr. Hankins would have lived a few months more he would have been 88 years of age as he was born Nov 16, 1826. He was born in Butler County, Ohio and resided in that place for a few years of his young life. He moved to Montgomery County while a boy and has resided here continuously sine that time. For many years he was a well known farmer living east of this city. He moved into Crawfordsville some time ago and has lived at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Wilkinson. Mr. Hankins was married twice during his lifetime. His first wife was Mary Thompson. She died shortly after her marriage to Mr. Hankins. He then married Miss Jemima Prian. The following children survive the deceased: Clifton Hankins of Indianapolis; Evaline Carrithers of El Paso, Ill; William Hankins, Albert Hankins, Mrs. Leva Wilkinson of Crawfordsville; Orph Hankins and Henry S. Hankins and Lora Hershe of Gridley, Ill and Margaret Andrews of Lake, Nebraska. – - thanks to Chris for typing this one for us :)
