Darlington – Mrs. Anna Hampton, 86, who lived on East Main Street here, died at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Bowles Convalescent Home in Crawfordsville where she had been a patient three years. Mrs. Hampton was a graduate of Darlington HS. She had belonged to the Friends Church. She was a charter member of the Fortnightly Needle Club. A native of Darlington, she was born Nov 3, 1880 a daughter of Israel and Mary Emma Pritchard Butler. Her marriage was to Lee Hampton in Darlington Oct 25, 1905. Surviving are two nieces, Mrs. Dorcas Southworth of Connersville and Mrs. Thomas Tincher of Darlington; a nephew, Frederick Butler of Darlington and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Frederick P. Butler of Franklin, Ind. She was preceded in death by her husband in January of 1951, an infant son and daughter, a brother and a sister. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Bright Funeral Home in Darlington with Rev. Charles Adams of the Sugar Plain Friends Church officiating. - kbz
