Darlington - Mrs. Ida W. Hampton, 90, a resident of near Darlington most of her life, died at 8:20 p.m. Wednesday in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Foughty, 343 Grayton Ave, Huntington, Ind. She had made her home with Mrs. Foughty, a granddaughter, for nearly 3 years. Mrs. Hampton had been ill and befast two years. She was a native of Montgomery County born Oct 8, 1870 to Isaac and Minnie Walton and married Samuel A. Hampton who farmed east of Darlington died Feb 2, 1943.

Mrs. Hampton was a member of St. James Lutheran Church and Pythian Sisters of Darlington. Surviving are a son, Cecil Hampton of Darlington, 14 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. A son, Ernest, is deceased. The body is being brought to the Bright Funeral Home in Darlington where arrangements are pending.

Darlington - Funeral services for Mrs. Ida W. Hampton, 90 were held Saturday morning at the Bright Funeral Home here. Rev. John Simpson, pastor of the Congregational Christian Church officiated. Curtis Bright played organ selections. Grandsons served as pallberers and assisted with the flowers. They were Robert Hampton and John Hampton of Darlington; Richard Hampton of Colburn; Donald Hampton and Gerald Preston of Lafayette and Edward Foughty of Huntington. Burial was in St. James Lutheran Cemetery east of Darlington. Mrs. Hampton had been a member of St. James for 77 years. - kbz
