Byron W. “Barney” Hamm, 52, of 114 N. West St., died at 5:20 p.m. Tuesday in Lakeview Hospital at Danville, Ill., after a week's illness. He was a Crawfordsville High School graduate of 1935, an R.R. Donnelley & Sons Co. employe for 35 years and an avid golfer. A native of Alamo, he was a son of Ivan and Edith Morrison Hamm and was born Dec. 19, 1916. He was married to Betty Hartung in 1938. Mr. Hamm was a member of the First Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife; a son, Donald R. Hamm of Crawfordsville; a granddaughter; a brother, Darrell Hamm of Waynetown; two sisters, Mrs. Ruby Fyffe of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Pauline Aldrich of Harbor Springs, Mich., and nieces and nephews. Funeral services are announced for 3 p.m. Friday at Hunt and Son Funeral Home, with Rev. Milo Riggs officiating and burial in Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 p.m. today.

CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. (CNS) — Byron William Hamm, 52, of 114 N. West St., died at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday (Dec. 31, 1968) at Lake View Memorial Hospital in Danville, Ill. He suffered a heart attack on Dec. 23 while at work at the R. R. Donnelley and Sons Company and had been hospitalized since that time. Born near Alamo Dec. 19, 1916, he was the son of Iven and Edith Morrison Hamm. He married Betty Jean Hartung on Dec. 17, 1938. He is survived by the widow; a son, Donald R. of Crawfordsville; two sisters, Mrs. Gordon (Ruby) Fyffe of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Harold (Pauline) Aldrich of Harbor Springs, Mich.; a brother, Darrel of Waynetown, and a granddaughter. Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at the Hunt and Sons Funeral Home in Crawfordsville with burial in the Crawfordsville Masonic Cemetery.
