Waynetown - Blanche Hamm, 74 of Waynetown died at 3:30 a.m. Thursday in her home. She and her husband, Darrel had lived at Waynetown for the past 44 years. Mrs. Hamm was Waynetown's local historian. She compiled the Waynetown Sesquicentennial Book and had written several article for Montgomery Magazine. She was an antique collector and member of the Front Row Club; Waynetown Flower Lovers Club and Waynetown Christian Church.
She was graduated from WHS in 1929. Mrs. Hamm was born Nov 26, 1911 at Waynetown to Joseph and Mary Etta King Pierce Hamm. She was married Feb 15, 1930 at Paris, Ill to Darrel Hamm of Alamo. He survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Dan of San Jose, Calif and Gary of Rt 1, New Ross; a daughter Mrs. Larry (Sherry) Fields of Crawfordsville; 10 grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; two great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren. A daughter, Mary Jane Moore; two infant children; three sisters and a brother are deceased.
Service are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday in Thomas Funeral Home, with Rev. Dorman Winger and Rev. Tim Stanwood officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Friday. - kbz
