Ham - William
WILLIAM HAM
Source: Crawfordsville Star, June 5, 1879 p 1
William Ham, an Alamo farmer, together with his wife and child came to Crawfordsville on a load of staves on last Friday morning. Just as they drove down the hill beyond the old beer garden west of the city, the horses started up sharply, throwing Ham off the wagon to the ground. One wheel struck him in the head, cutting a deep gash and killing him instantly. Mrs. Ham was also thrown off and severely injuried in the back. THe body of the unfortunate man was taken in at a neighboring house, where an inquest was held by Coroner Henry. It was a very sad affair - typed by kbz
