Edward HALPIN, 79, Crane Drive died at an early hour this morning after an illness of 3 days with the grippe. He had lived in this city a number of years. he was a respected citizen and had a large many friends (sic). Mr. Halpin was born in Ireland and came to this country while young. Besides the widow, 4 children survive: Mrs. PE McCarthy, Champaign, Il; Katherine, Margaret and Mary at home. One brother John of Gas City is also living. The deceased was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church. The funeral will be held Thursday morning at St. Bernard's with Rev. TM Conry officiating. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. - kbz
