Mrs. Nancy A. Hall, wife of Thomas Hall, died at her home on West Wabash Avenue last Friday at 7 o’clock, aged 76 years. Nancy A. Swearingen was born in Butler County, Ohio, March 21, 1819, and moved with her parents to Indiana in September, 1823. She was married to Thomas Hall Dec. 24, 1839. She united with the Baptist Church in Waynetown some time in 1843 and has been a member of that denomination ever since. As she was one of the pioneers she has endured all the hardships incident to those days with a courage rarely seen. Wherever her lot has been cast, she performed her duties with cheerfulness. She was a devoted wife.

Almost her last words were for the welfare of her heart stricken husband. She leaves the husband of her youth and five daughters to mourn her loss, viz: Mrs. H. M. Billingsley, Mrs. H. M. Clark, Mrs. Perry Sanders, of Crawfordsville, Mrs. Oscar Hawkins, of near Shadeland, and Mrs. Howard Smith of Gas City. Two sons preceded her to the spirit world. She was a sister of Mrs. Tillie Austin and James G. Swearingen. She approached the end with great composure and assured her friends that all was well and was ready to go and be at rest. Farewell, faithful wife, loving mother, devoted friend. -s
