Mrs. Nancy Haines, widow of John Wesley Haines, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Charles Knab in Elston, at about 7 o’clock Monday evening from tuberculosis. She had been in poor health for several months. Mrs. Haines was the daughter of David R. and Mary Smith, and was born in Montgomery county July 20, 1856. She' was married to J. W. Haines May 25, 1870. Mr. Haines died less than a year ago, on August 18, 1912. She leaves one daughter, Mrs. Mattie Knab, and two grand-daughters, Misses Edith and Ella Munn.  Mrs. Haines was a member of the Friends church at Farmers Institute. She was a lovable woman and with a wide host of friends Short funeral services were held at the Knab home at 1 o’clock yesterday morning, following which the remains were brought overland to New Richmond and a public funeral occurred from the New Richmond Christian church at 1 o’clock. The interment was made in the New Richmond cemetery.
