Shannondale - Opha Oval Haffner, 78, who farmed west of Shannondale most of his life, died at 2:30 P.M Wednesday in Culver Hospital at Crawfordsville after a brief illness. A native of Boone County, he was a son of Fred and Frances Woodard Haffner and was born June 2, 1890. He was educated in the schools of that county. His first marriage was to Birdie Patterson, who died in 1958. He was wed to Stella Shaver in 1962. Mr. Haffner was a member of the Shannondale Presbyterian church. Surviving are his wife; a son, Burdet of Crawfordsville; a daughter, Norvella Graham, also of this city; three grandchildren and a great-grandson, tow stepchildren, Eileen Graydon and Lawrence Shaver of Baltimore, Md.; three step-grandchildren; a brother, Vora Haffner of Crawfordsville; two half-brothers Goldie and Harold Haffner , and a sister, Irma Hooser. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hunt and Son Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Spurgion officiating and burial in Jamestown 100F cemetery.
