Mrs. Helen Elizabeth Haffner 57, widow of Harold Haffner, died at 5:30 a.m. Wednesday at Home Hospital, Lafayette, following an illness of several months duration. She resided on a farm near Shannondale. Born April 17, 1911, in Mongomery county, Mrs. Haffner was the daughter of William Franklin Record and Ida Mae Coons Record. She was married Dec. 3, 1933. Mr. Haffner died March 3, 1969. Mrs. Haffner attended the Garfield school and was graduated from Crawfordsville High School in 1929. Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Keith Cox of Indianapolis; a brother, Howard Record of Rt. 4, Crawfordsville; her stepmother, Mrs. Lillard Huffman of Crawfordsville, a stepsister, Mrs. John Belcher of Indianapolis and several nieces and nephews. Services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Hunt and Son Funeral Home with Rev. John Servies officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary after 4 p.m. Thursday. -- kbz
