WAYNETOWN- Henrietta S. Haas, 72, 105 S. Davis St., Crawfordsville, died at her home at 5:40 p.m. Wednesday after an illness since last fall. She entered Culver Hospital Nov. 15 and was moved to her home a month ago. She was born in Montgomery County Dec. 9, 1886, to Howard and Annie Swearingen Smith. She married James Rice in 1906. He died in 1929. In 1941 she married Guy Haas, who preceded her in death in 1956. Mrs. Haas moved from Wingate to Crawfordsville six years ago. She was a member of Trinity Methodist Church and its WSCS of OES Chapter 97 and the DAR in Crawfordsville. Surviving are a son, Rev. Russell F. Rice of Paoli, Pa.; two daughters, Mrs. Elah Vivian Mentzer of Evanston, Ill., and Mrs. Margaret L. Beck of Indianapolis, and 11 grandchildren. Three children, Daniel Wayne, Helen Evelyn and Howard Evan Rice, preceded her in death. Funeral services are set for 7 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Church on West Pike Street in Crawfordsville, with Rev. C. H. Loveland, assisted by Rev. Robert Servies officiating. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery in Waynetown. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the services. Friends may call at the Servies Funeral Home in Waynetown after 8 p.m. Thursday. - kbz
