The Attica Ledger furnishes the following particulars of a terrible accident which occurred in Richland Township, Fountain County: “Moses Gwin, a well known citizen of Stockwell, and son-in-law of Dr. A. G. Richardson, of Van Buren Township, was in his carriage with his wife and little son, when the horse took fright and upset the vehicle. Mr. Gwin was thrown against a fence, and his skull fractured, causing his death in three hours from the time of the accident, and rendering him unconscious from the first. The little boy was so badly hurt that we learn he can hardly survive. The wife is also badly bruised, but is not seriously injured. The accident occurred at the farm of Abram Dove, three miles west of Newtown. Mr. Gwyn was 67 years of age. His body was taken to Stockwell next day in a Newtown hearse.”
