John Roy Guy, 88, of 912 S. Brady, died Tuesday, April 25, 1978 at the Woodland Manor Nursing Center. He had been a patient a year. Born Jan. 16, 1890, south of Covington, he was the son of William H. and Laura Belle Boyd Guy. He married Hazel Royal on Nov. 29, 1911, near Mellott. She died Jan. 12, 1962. He was a life resident of Fountain County and had resided in Attica since 1931. He attended school in Newtown. He formerly farmed and had retired from Harrison Steel Casting Co. in Attica where he had been employed in the store room. He was an ardent worker of the Republican party and a member of the Presbyterian Church in Newtown. Survivors include two sons, John of Jackson, Mich., and James of Louisville, Ky.; a daughter Mrs. Joseph (Edwina) Sheehan of Attica; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. EST Friday at the Maus Funeral Home with the Rev. Everett White officiating. Burial will be in Union Christian Cemetery near Aylesworth. --wa
