Five days after the death of her husband, Silas W. Guthrie, Mrs. Eliza Jane Guthrie, 69 years old, died at her home, 618 Liberty street, at nine o'clock Sunday evening without knowing that her husband had preceded her to the grave. Mrs. Guthrie had been seriously ill for several days and her condition was such that relatives feared to inform her of her husbands death. She was suffering with chronic bronchitis. Mrs. Guthrie was born in Kentucky in 1847. Forty-one years ago she was married to Mr. Guthrie. Two children, Miss Clara Guthrie of this city and Fred Guthrie, of Erle, Pa., survive. The deceased is also survived by three step-children, William of Pittsburgh, Pa.; Clint, of Linnsburg, and Mrs. Jesse Tomlinson, of this place. The deceased had been a member of the Baptist Church for years and was a true Christian woman. The funeral services will be held at the home Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, conducted by Rev. G.M. Shott. Burial in Masonic cemetery.
