Source: Crawfordsville Journal, Monday, April 27, 1925
Miss Clara Guthrie, a resident of this city since birth, died at Culver hospital this morning at three o'clock following a short illness from heart trouble. Miss Guthrie was 47 years of age and was the daughter of Silas W. and Eliza Guthrie, both of whom preceded her in death. The well known woman resided at 406 East Jefferson Street and had been a member of the Baptist church since 1897. She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Jesse Tomlinson, of Indianapolis, and three brothers, Fred Guthrie of Erie, Pa., C.N. Guthrie of Indianapolis, and Will Guthrie of Cheswick, PA. For many years Miss Guthrie was employed at the Wide Awake store where she worked in the capacity of a bookkeeper. The body was taken to the Hunt funeral home on North Grant Avenue today where friends may view the remains. Funeral services will not be decided upon until word has been received from the brothers living in Pennsylvania.
