Mrs. Rebecca Guntle, aged 92 years died Feb. 3 about 9 o'clock a. m. at the residence of her son-in law, John P. Everson, on east College street. The funeral occurred Sunday at 10 o'clock conducted by Rev. W. G. Howe and Elder Vancleave. Interment at Oak Hill. Mrs. Guntle was born Oct. 15, 1800, in Pennsylvania and came to this State in 1827. She was the relict of George Guntle, who died in 1876. She was a member of the Primitive Baptist church and had been a consistent Christian for 55 years. She was the mother of twelve children, nine of whom are still alive. She was a worthy old lady and died full of years and honor.- thanks to Kim H

Mrs. Rebecca Guntle died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Rebecca Everson, on East College Street, Friday morning, Feb. 3, of old age, aged 92 years, 3 months and 17 days. She was the mother of twelve children, nine of whom survive her, all being present at the funeral except one son, who was not able to attend. She has thirty-three grandchildren, and thirty-two great grandchildren, all living. She was a kind and loving mother, a good Christian, and was loved by all who knew her. The funeral was conducted by Rev. Oliphant, prayer by M. M. Vancleave. The funeral services were held at the Primitive Baptist Church, of which she has been a member for 50 years. Six of her grandsons acted as pall bearers. Interment was at Finley Chapel. -s
