Waynetown - Eli W. Groendyke, 73, retired farmer and laborer died Friday morning at his home in New Richmond. He had been ill 3 weeks. Born June 20, 1879, in the Roberts Chapel neighborhood, northeast of here, Mr. Groendyke was the son of John and Nancy Ritter Groendyke. He married Florence Mathes of Crawfordsville Feb 22, 1906. He was a member of Alamo Christian Church and Waynetown Masonic Lodge. Surviving are the widow, a sister, Mrs. Betty Cassidy, Covington and sevearl nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. SUnday at Grenard & Servies Funeral Home in Waynetown. Burial will be in Alamo Cemtery, Rev. John Servies will officiate.
