Waveland – Robert E Grimes, 46, of Waveland, died at 5:20 a.m. Sunday in St. Elizabeth Hospital where he had been a patient since Friday. He had been ill 8 months. Mr. Grimes, a native of St. Bernice was employed as a driver by the Crestline Trucking Co. at Ladoga and had lived there until moving to Waveland two years ago. He had resided most of his life in Montgomery County. In 1945 he married Edna Dierbower who survives. He served in Germany with the US Army during WWII. Surviving with the widow are four sons, Robert Jr, Billy Joe, Dennis Lee and Garry Dean, all at home; the mother, Mrs. Thelma Grimes of Lafayette; four sisters, Mrs. Charles (Norma) Shoaf of Kramer, Mrs. Louis (Arlene) Lowery of Crawfordsville; Mrs. William (June) creamer and Mrs. Robert (Betty McKendric, both of Lafayette, and three brothers, Albert Grimes and Jerry Grimes, both of Lafayette and Herschel Grimes, Jr. of Radcliff, Ky. Grimes, Robert E, Sr – Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at Soller-Baker Funeral Home. Services 10 a.m Wednesday in Soller-Baker Main Chapel, Father David Minniti officiating. Interment Tippecanoe Memory Gardens. Also surviving is the grandmother, Mrs. Katherine Dodds of Yeddo. - thanks to Leona F for sending this one !!
