Donald Lee GRIMES, 71, died Tuesday morning at Putnam County Hospital, Greencastle following an extended illness. He had been a horticulturist most of his life in and around Russellville. He was born July 17, 1895 in Russellville son of Charles and Izzie Anderson Grimes. He was married to Dora Woody. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Russellville, the Federated Church, the american Legion and WWI Barracks in Greencastle. Survivors incude, the widow, two sons, Gordon and WInifred and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2 p. m. at McGaughey & Son Funeral Home in Russellville with burial in Russellville Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p. m. Wednesday.

Donald Lee Grimes, 71, of Russellville died Tuesday morning, August 2 at the Putnam County Hospital in Greencastle after being hospitalized two weeks following a stroke. Mr. Grimes has been in ill health for a few years.
Born July 17, 1895 in Russellville, he was the son of Charles and Izzie Anderson Grimes. He married Dora Woody.
He was a horticulturist most of his life at Russellville and community. He was a member of the Federated Church, The Masonic Lodge and the American Legion at Russellville and World War I Barracks in Greencastle.
Survivors include the widow, Dora; two sons, Gordon D., who is in the Air Force in North Carolina and Winifred of Russellville; a grandaughter, Gail Lynn Grimes of Springfield, Mo., and a grandson, David Ray Grimes of Russellville. His parents and two brothers preceded him in death.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday afternoon at the McGaughey & Son Funeral Home in Russellville, with Rev. Justus Saalwaechter officiating.
