Gwin - Mattie Johnson

At 12 o'clock last night Mrs. N.C. Gwinn died at
her home, 1106 E. Walnut Street. Death came after an illness of six
weeks caused by Bright's disease. Her condition became serious about two
weeks ago and grew gradually worse until she calmly passed into the
eternal life. Mrs. Gwinn was born at New Ross Sept 4, 1869. Her maiden
name was Mattie F. Johnson,, a daughter of William and Sarah Johnson,
now of New Ross. She was married at Indianapolis Sept 17, 1896 to N..C.
Gwinn and came here with her husband, and they have resided here since.
When a young girl she became a member of the Christian Church at New
Ross and has always been a faithful and earnest worker in the cause of
her Master. She has lived such a life, devoted to the interests of
others, that her death will be cause for sorrow to a host of relatives
and friends. She is survived by her husband, her parents and two
brothers, Charles Johnson of New Ross and Allen Johnson of
Crawfordsville. The funeral services will be held Friday morning at
10:30 o'clock at the Christian Church by Rev. J.C. Burkhart. The
interment will be in the Greenlawn Cemetery
