J. Maurice Guthrie, the son of Silas W. and Eliza J. Guthrie, of 406 Gibson Street, died last Thursday of lung fever at the age of 16 years. He was a boy of good character and loved and respected by the entire circle of schoolmates and friends who associated with him, and had every promise of a bright future until the fatal sickness fastened itself upon him. His neighbors and friends join the family in sincere regret that we have to part with his cheerful, honest, and upright disposition, and rejoice with them in the knowledge that naught could be said against him. The funeral was conducted by Rev. Runyan at the house Sunday at 2 p.m. Interment was at the Masonic Cemetery.
