DARLINGTON — Emil ‘Slim’ Greve, 77, of Darlington died early today in the home of his daughter, Mrs. Wesley (Martha Joyce) Shannon of Crawfordsville. Mr. Greve was a retired barber. He was a member of Darlington Masonic Lodge and attended Darlington United Methodist Church. Born Jan. 31, 1900, at Douglas County, Ill., he was first married to Velma Sappenfield on June 28, 1922, at Danville, Ill. She died March 20, 1972. He later married Selena Summers Wethington on Feb. 22, 1975. Surviving with the daughter and widow are three stepdaughters, Mrs. Darol (Mary Jane) Long and Mrs. Alan (Betty Jo) Brown of Advance and Mrs. Ronald (Joan) Taylor of Indianapolis; a stepson, Timothy C. Wethington of Lebanon; three grandsons, John Stephen, Michael Greves and William Wesley Shannon; a great-grandson, Wesley Todd Shannon of Crawfordsville; and seven step-grandchildren. Services are scheduled at 2 p.m. Friday in Burkhart Funeral Home, Darlington Chapel with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Thursday. Masonic services will be in the funeral home at 8 p.m. Thursday.--waw
