Mrs. Henry Greves (Anna Elsobe Heit) died at her home No. of town at 11:00 on Sunday morning, after a protracted illness. Funeral services at the home on Monday morning at 11:00 were conducted by Rev. JB Johnson. The men's quartet sang. The immediate family then drove to Garrett, Illinois where services were held at the German Evangelical Church near that place in charge of Rev. Mr. Bock. Burial in the Cemetery adjoining. October 10, 1869, there was born to Hans and Maria Heit of Garrett, IIlinois, a daughter, who was given the name of Anna Elsobe. She was one of a large family of children and with them grew to womanhood in the vicinity in which she was born. As a child she was dedicated to the Lord and at the age of 14 she took the vows of confirmation and became a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Church of Arcola, Ill. It is needless to say before those who knew her that her life was lived in faithful obedience to those vows and to the will of her Lord and Master whom she loved and served. She was married Nov 29, 1893 to Henry Greve to whom she has been a faithful and devoted companion. To them God gave the care of four sons: Raymond and Wilford of Waveland, Emil of Darlington and Arnold of Anderson. For them she lived and before them she set the example of the Christian life. In the year of 1919 Mr. and Mrs. Greve moved to Waveland, where they have since made their home. Here for the last four years she has suffered the affliction that finally ended with her death June 6 at the age of 57 years. She bore her suffering with great fortitude, sought continually to know and do her Master's will and finished the battle with a sustaining consciousness of His blessed presence. While we grieve at her going we cannot but rejoice as she is at rest in a land where there is neither "sickness nor sorrowing and no more pain." She is survived by three sisters: Mrs. Maggie Jensen of Bourbon, Ill; Mrs. Mary VanLanken, Garret, Illinois; Mrs. Minnie Bruhn, Tuscola, Illinois and one brother, Hans Heit of Garrett; and seven grandchildren. - typed by kbz
