Sarah A. Greene, 69, wife of James R. Greene died at 11 o'clock Saturday forenoon at the family home, 1104 S 18th street; she had been ill several months and death was due to stomach trouble. The deceased was born July 15, 1855 at Darlington, Montgomery County and had been a resident of Lafayette for about 20 years. She was a daughter of John S. and Dorcas A. Masterson. Mrs. Greene was a member of the Christian Church at Waveland. Surviving are the husband; a daughter, Mrs. Albert E. Shields at home; four sisters, Mrs. Hannah Royal and Mrs. JM Baker of Lafayette; Mrs. Mary E Winter of Texas and Mrs. LJ Oswalt of Crawfordsville and three brothers, John E; Charles W and Stowe F. Masterson, all of Lafayette. Funeral services will be held at the family residence, Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock with Rev. DE Snow in charge burial in Springvale cemetery. - kbz
