George Green, a pioneer of Montgomery County, passed away Saturday afternoon at his home 306 Whitlock Avenue at the advanced age of 84 years. Death was due to infirmities of age. The deceased was born in New York and was of Scotch descent. He came to this county 60 years ago and resided near Waynetown until recent years when he came to Crawfordsville to reside. He is survived by his wife and two children, Mrs. Charles Ross, of this city and Robert Green of Waynetown. A short funeral service was conducted at the residence Sunday afternoon and the remains were taken overland this morning to Waynetown where the funeral was conducted by Rev. SW Goss. The burial took place at Wesley cemetery.
