New Ross, May 10 – Sarah Elizabeth Gray, one of the most prominent residents of this community died at her home, northeast of New Ross, at midnight, Sunday, a few hours following an attack of heart trouble. She was born April 13, 1854 in Edgar County Ill the daughter of Burr H. and Lucinda Troutman. On August 28, 1888, she became the wife of James H. Gray of New Ross. Mrs. Gray was a prominent member of the Methodist Church and Rebecca Lodge. Surviving are the husband, a sister, Margaret Stewart of Evanston, Ill; a brother, John H. Troutman of Indianapolis and a nephew, Arthur Gray. The funeral will be held from the Methodist Church at 1:30 o’clock Wednesday morning, in charge of the Rev. Clearwater. Burial will be made at the IOOF Cemetery south of New Ross.- kbz
