Waynetown - Reed B. Gray, 69, died at 9:15 p.m. Monday at the Welcome Nursing Home in Franklin. He had been ill for two and a half months. Mr. Gray was born Aug. 14, 1893, at Waynetown, the son of William and Mary Stuart Gray. He was married Oct. 7, 1913, to Linda M. Biddle at Crawfordsville. She died Jan. 2, 1951. He was a member of the Waynetown Methodist Church, the Masonic Lodge at Fairmount, Ill., and had attended the Waynetown School. He was a farmer and carpenter before his retirement. Mr. Gray went to Franklin a few months ago after spending eight years in Florida. Survivors include a son, John Gray of Franklin; a daughter, Mrs. James Martin of Beech Grove; a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Ellis of Waynetown; a nephew, Lee Vern Ellis of Waynetown, and five grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Servies Funeral Home in Waynetown. Rev. Guy E. Tremaine will officiate. Burial will be in Washington Park Cemetery in Indianapolis. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Funeral services for Reed B. Gray were held Thursday morning in the Servies Funeral Home with Rev. E. Tremaine officiating. organ music was played by Mrs. Nelllie Snyder who included a special number, “Take My Hand, Precious Lord.” The pallbearers, who also assisted with the flowers, were grandsons Terry Martin and John K. Gray; a nephew, Lee Vern Ellis, and Harry Luzader, Frank Gray and Ralph Beard. The burial was in Washington Park Cemetery, Indianapolis. Mr. Gray died Monday at Franklin - kbz

Waynetown – Reed B. Gray, 69, formerly of Waynetown died in Welcome Nursing Home at Franklin at 9:15 p.m. Monday after an illness of two and a half months.  Born here, he was a farmer and carpenter and moved to Franklin several months ago after having lived in Florida for eight years.  He was married in 1913 to Miss Mineta M. Biddle who died in 1951.  He was a member of Waynetown Methodist Church and Masonic Lodge at Fairmount, Ill.  Surviving are a son, John, Franklin; a daughter, Mrs. James Martin of Beech Grove and a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Ellis of Waynetown.  Burial will be here.   ---transcribed by kbz
