Veedersburg - Mrs. Mary Gray, 89, died at 5:57 p.m. Monday in Lakeview Hospital at Danville, Ill. After an extended illness. She had been a patient at the hospital nine days. Mrs. Gray spent her entire life in Fountain County except nine years when she resided in Orange County. A resident of this area since 1917, she was a member of Cooper’s Chapel EUB Church and was a charter member of the Ladies Aid of the church. Born Aug. 27, 1874 at Covington, she was the daughter of Soloman and Elizabeth Truce Koenitzer. She married Ed S. Gray, who died Sept. 27, 1945. The only immediate survivor is a son, Edward, of Rt. 2, Veedersburg. She was preceded in death by a daughter and a brother. Funeral rites will be conducted at 2 p.m. (EST) Thursday at Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home in Covington with Rev. Thomas Stapp officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery at Covington. Friends may pay their respects at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Wednesday.
