Hillsboro, Ind. (CNS) — Services for Mrs. Effie Gray, 86, Hillsboro Route 1, who died Thursday morning (July 20, 1967), were at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Crumley-Williams Funeral Home. The Rev. Arthur Schenck officiated, with burial in the Masonic Cemetery. Mrs. Gray was born at Hillsboro on Sept. 26, 1880, a daughter of Charles and Mary E. Starns. She was married June 7, 1942, in Newtown to Harry Gray who survives. Also surviving are a stepson, Emery Gray, Hillsboro; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Charlotte Kemp of Garland, Tex.; five step-grandchildren and five great-step-grandchildren. Mrs. Gray was a graduate of Hillsboro High School and attended Central Normal at Danville, Ind. She taught school in South Carolina and at the Boggs School near Hillsboro. -- typed by Walt W

HILLSBORO — Mrs. Effie E. Gray, age 86, died at 2:30 a.m. Thursday, July 20, at her home, Hillsboro Rt. 1, where she had been born. She had been in failing health for a year and a half. An alumnus of Central Normal College in Danville, Ind., she was a former teacher at Boggs School near Hillsboro. Prior to that she had taught in South Carolina. Mrs. Gray was a graduate of Hillsboro High School and attended Harmony Elementary School. She was a member of the Hillsboro Methodist Church. Mrs. Gray was born Sept. 26, 1880, the daughter of Charles and Mary Edward Starnes. She was married on June 7, 1942, to Harry Gray, by the Rev. John Kirkpatrick in the Newtown Methodist Church. Surviving are: the husband; one stepson, Emery Gray of Hillsboro; one step-daughter, Mrs. Charlotte Kemp of Garland, Tex.; five step-grandchildren, and five step-great-grandchildren. Two brothers and one sister preceded her in death. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Crumley-Williams Funeral Home in Hillsboro. The Rev. Arthur Schenck officiated and burial was in the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. -- typed by Walt W
