Waynetown - George W. Gravett, Sr, 57, who was in business with his son at 435 Kentucky Ave in Indianapolis at the Gravette Truck Service died Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at his place of business. Death was sudden, following a heart attack. After spending his childhood at Wingate, he moved to Waynetown where he lived until 1950. He then moved to Crawfordsville and moved to Indianapolis a year ago.
Born in Winchester, KY on April 18, 1896 he was the son of John and Lydia Kimbrell Gravett. In 1914, he married Mary Bunnell who preceded him in death. On July 27, 1952, he married Edith Keller at Covington. He was a member of the Crawfordsville FOP.
Survivors include the widow who lives at Speedway City; two sons, Richard of Speedway City and George Jr of Crawfordsville; two step sons, Don E. Keller of Crawfordsville and Richard L. Keller of Indianapolis; 10 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Grenard & Servies Funeral Home in Waynetown with Rev. Guy Tremaine officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.
