While her mother went to the basement Thursday
afternoon to are for the furnace little Miss Carolyn Grantham, daughter
of Dr. and Mrs. Grantham drank a quantity of gasoline which she found in
a bottle that her mother had been using to clean her gloves. Mrs.
Grantham heard her daughter making an unusual noise and hurried to find
out what was the trouble. She found Carolyn with her eyes opened wide
and her face a purple hue. Home remedies were employed by the mother and
the stuff made the victim so sick she vomited and was thus relieved of
most of it. The child drank some milk and was soon all right except for
the nauseating effect of the liquid. -- typed by kbz
