Roy Leslie Gouty, age 70, 422 Second St., a life resident of the Covington vicinity, died suddenly and unexpectedly at 10:18 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Danville, Ill., where he had been admitted two minutes earlier. Death was attributed to a heart attack. Two years ago Mr. Gouty had suffered his first heart attack. He was born in Vermillion County, Ind., Aug. 7, 1892, the son of Joseph and Luella Hartman Gouly. He had been employed at and operated a restaurant in Covington for about three years. Recently he had been employed at Crains Plumbing & Heating firm until ill health forced him to retire. He was married July 14, 1915 to Mabel Strawser, who survives. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are: one daughter, Mrs. Eileen Poll of Covington Rt. 2; two grandsons, Duane and David Poll; and two sisters, Miss Inez Gouty of Covington Rt. 2 and Mrs. Ida Saltsgaver of Hillsboro. He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister. The body is at the Hegg Funeral Home where friends may call after 7 o'clock tonight, July 17. He will be taken to the Benson Chapel Methodist Church at 1 p.m. Friday where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. The Rev. Bill Moon will officiate and burial will be in Mt.
