Source: Crawfordsville Star, 5-6-1892 - thanks muches to Jerry Turner for this one
Short before midnight Sunday, D.A. Goodwin, manager of the Spoke & Wheel works, died at his home on East College Street from cancer of the stomach, from which he has been an intense sufferer for several years. He was about 48 years old and leaves a wife and three children. The deceased came to this city a year ago, being prominently connected with the removal of the spoke and wheel works to this city. He was actively engaged in the business, but on account of poor health has for the past few months been confined to the house. He was the founder of the American Wheel Association, and for several years was business manager of that extensive institution, but was compelled to retire from the business when the disease from which he died attacked him. -- kbz
