John C. Goodin, well known farm and thresherman of near Wallace died at 12:10 o'clock Sunday night at Culver Hospital where he had gone 10 days ago for an emergency operation. Mr. Gooding, however, had been in failing health for the past 6 years. Born May 27, 1886 in Fountain County, Mr. Goodin however had been in failing health for the past six years. Born May 27, 1886 in Fountain County, Mr. Goodin was the son of William and Emeline Black Goodin. He observed his 79th birthday last May. Although living for a short time in Montgomery County, and for awhile in Parke County, Mr. Goodin had spent most of his life in Fountain County. Mr. Goodin's marriage to Eva E. Sampson occurred Oct 28, 1894. Last October, they quietly observed their 50th wedding anniversary with their children and a few intimate friends joining in the celebration. Mr. Goodin was a member of the Freedom Christian Church. For almost 50 years he was an active member of the Wallace Masonic Lodge. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Eva Goodin; one daughter, Mrs. Otto Stonebraker of Indianapolis and 3 sons Thomas of Indianapolis; Esten of Kingman and Charles of near Wallace. An older son, Paul, preceded him in death. A sister, Mrs. Florence Goodin of Indianapolis also survives together with four grandchildren and one great granddaughter. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. John R. Services of Crawfordsville at the Freedom Christian Church near Wallace at 2:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon. Burial was made in Wolf Creek Cemetery.
