Goldman - Tobias

The many friends and relatives of Sam Grimes will be exceedingly interested in reading the following special sent from Chicago:
On June 10th, Tobias G. Goldman, a well known young man of Minneapolis, Minn., disappeared and was last seen in the vicinity of Lake Harriet. It was supposed he suicided by drowning. The lake was dragged without result and the theory of suicide was given up. The parents advertised and the police hunted in vain. Yesterday the putrid remains floated to the surface of the lake, corroborating the original opinion. It was a case of disappointment in love. He was engaged to marry Miss Martha Griffith, of Brazil, Ind. Her parents interfered in behalf of another suitor, Samuel Grimes, of the Brazil Times. Goldman visited Brazil. Miss Griffith positively refused to wed him and he returned to Minneapolis and committed suicide.
Miss Griffith and Goldman were engaged for several months. He had made all plans for his wedding this fall which event was watched with great interest by Minneapolis society. Goldman was well connected in Minneapolis and Chicago. He was employed as a clothing salesman by the Palace Clothing Company of Minneapolis. The parents are prostrated with grief. His Chicago relatives are sorrowing at the blasting of hopes that he had only wondered away during a fit of temporary aberration and would be found safe and sound.
From the above it would appear that Mrs. Grimes was dead on to herself when she made her choice, and Tobias could have demonstrated his incapability to be her husband in no better way than the one he chose.
Sam visited his parents here a short time ago but had nothing to say of his rival’s disappearance.
It was thought last spring that Tobias had the inside track, but later developments proved the contrary so he flew the trace altogether.
