Four persons including an Arizona State University associate professor were reported dead in traffic accidents investigators said yesterday. Three of the dead were Valley Residents. Officers identified the victims as Richard H. Gott, 39 of Scottsdale; Barbara Lewis 16 of Chandler; Dana Jack, 37 of Laveen and Linden Heldt, 26 of Gurnee, Ill. Investigators said Gott, an associate professor in the Center for the Study of Higher Education at ASU was reported killed in a car-horse accident on Wednesday in Northern Arizona.  Officers reported that Gott and Dr. Rudy Malone of the Pima Community College in Tucson were driving 3 miles west of Round Rock on Navajo Route 17 at the time of the accident. Officers said they have not determined which of the two men was driving. Male was listed in fair condition at Sage Memorial Hospital in Ganado. A Pima College administrator remained hospitalized in fair condition in a Ganado hospital today, injured in a car crash in northern Apache County that left an Arizona State University professor dead. Authorities said Dr. Rudy Melone, dean of academic affairs at the Tucson school was in fair condition at Sage Memoria Hospital. Richard Gott, an associate professor at ASU was killed when the car in which he and Melone were riding collided with a horse on Navajo 17 three miles west of Red Rock.  Melone and Gott were on their way to a conference when the accident occurred. - kbz
