Preston Gott (b. 1825) died at his farm home near Browns  Valley Sat. morning. In 1829, his grandfather, Robert Gott came  here from Ky. and settled ont his farm. Robert Gott, son of the  pioneer and father of the deceased also lived on this farm. For 3  generations the farm has been the property of the Gott Family;  now Preston Gott, Jr. of the 4th generation resides here. The  passing of Preston Gott, Sr., marks the end of the 3rd  generation. Grandfather Gott was a soldier of the Revolutionary  War and is one of the few veterans of the war who lie buried in  this County. The wife of Preston Gott, Sr., died many years ago.  Surviving are four sons: James R. Gott, Peoria, Ill; John Gott,  Ill; Thomas Gott, Wingate and Preston Jr., near Russellville.   Dr. W. T. Gott of  this city is a nephew. - typed by kbz

Drs. Branson and Gott went to Browns Valley yesterday to attend the funeral of Thomas Gott, who died on Monday. Mr. Gott's father, Preston Gott was buried just two weeks before his son's death. --kbz
