Services for Dr. David Albert Glascock, 83, father of Dr. John Glascock of 1535 Dike Rd., have tentatively been set for 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Central Christian Church in Terre Haute, Ind., with the Rev. Lloyd Channels officiating. Dr. Glascock died early Sunday at Allen Hospital of a heart attack. Local arrangements were handled by Nottger funeral home with cremated remains transported to Terre Haute. Dr. Glascock was born in Veedersburg, Ind., July 30, 1885, son of Charles and Kitty Youngblood Glascock. He was a veteran of World War I. He was professor of physical education at Indiana State University, retiring in 1952. He was a Mason, past commander of American Legion, sponsor of Alpha Phi Omega fraternity, holder of the Scouting Silver Beaver Award, member of the Indiana State Basketball hall of Fame. He coached the first Indiana state basketball championship team. Dr. Glascock was a graduate of Wabash College, received his masters degree from Columbia University and his Ed. D. degree from Indiana University. Survivors include his widow, Marion; two sons, David of Chicago and John of 1535 Dike Rd.; a sister, Mrs. Walter Moyer; and four grandchildren.

Dr. Glascock, coach of Crawfordsville High School's 1911 state basketball championship team, is a member of the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame and coached at Indiana State from 1924 until 1952. Veedersburg, Ind - Dr. David A. Glascock, 83, of Terre Haute, a native of Veedersburg, died yesterday (Feb 16, 1969) at Cedar Falls, Iowa, where he and his wife were spending the winter with a son, Dr. John Glascock. Death was attributed to a heart attack. Born July 31, 1885, in Veedersburg, he was the son of Charles and Kytt Ann Youngblood Glascock. His early life was spent in Veedersburg and his family later moved to Crawfordsville where he attended schools.He was a graduate of Wabash College and had been a professor there. At the time of his retirement, he was a professor at Indiana University where he also served as track coach. He also had been active in Boy Scout work since his retirement. He was married at Grand Forks, N.D., to Marian Grover, who survives. Other survivors include two sons, Dr. John Glascock and Dr. David Glascock Jr. of Chicago; and a sister, Mrs. Walter Moyer of Crawfordsville. The body will be cremated. Memorial services will be Thursday at the first Christian Church in Terre Haute. Burial will be there. - kbz

Dr. David A. Glascock, 82, retired physical education professor and coach of Crawfordsville High School's 1911 state basketball championship team, died of a heart attack at Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Sunday (February 6, 1969). Inducted into the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame in 1966, Mr. Glascock was head cross country and track coach at Indiana State University from 1924 until 1952. He taught and coached at Crawfordsville High School from 1909 until 1913. In his first year at CHS, he guided the football team to an undefeated, untied record. He left Indiana in 1914 to accept a teaching-coaching position at Ogden (Utah) High School. After that he was out of teaching and coaching for five years. He was employed as a sales representative by Houghton Misslin Co. in 1915 and 1916. From 1917 until 1919, he served in the U. S. Army, achieving the rank of first lieutenant before being honorably discharged. He resumed his coaching and teaching career immediately after leaving the Army, becoming head coach at Aurora (Ill.) High School. A year later, he went to Aberdeen, S.D., where he coached and taught until 1924. That year, he accepted a position on the Indiana State University faculty as associate professor and head of the physical education department. He remained at the university until retirement in June of 1952. He and his wife had been spending the winter with their son, Dr. John Glascock.
