Cecil R. Glascock, a life long resident of Fountain County, passed away at the St. Elizabeth Hospital at Danville, Ill on Saturday March 22 at 12 o'clock noon at the age of 53 years 11 months 23 days. He had been in ailing health two months and ten days. Before his death he entered the hospital and was operated on Monday March 17 so everything could be done to restore him to good health, but to no avail. He was born on Scott's Prairie, NW of Wallace, Fountain County on March 28, 1888 the son of Allen and Jennie Stockdale Glascock. He was a member of the Masonic Order of Wallace. His brief life ended when it had just begun. As a good neighbor, always ready to help someone in need, his influence will still go on, and the lives of all who knew him will be richer for his having lived. He was preceded in death by his father and mother. One sister, Mrs. Dorothy Beeson passed away a year ago. He leaves besides his devoted wife, a sister, Mrs. John Thomas of Kingman; his stepmother, Mrs. William Oakley of Attica; two half brothers, Harry Glascock, Toledo, Oh; Lee Glascock of Attica; two step brothers, Hersched Hutts, of Veedersburg and Freeman Hutts of Wingate; nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
