Veedersburg — George Andrew Givens, 85, was found dead in a pasture on his daughter's farm near here Tuesday. The daughter, Mrs. Eunice Shoaf, said her father had gone out to the pasture early in the morning to look for dry grass for hens' nests. When he hadn't returned by noon, Mrs. Shoaf went searching for him and found him in the pasture. Death was attributed to a heart attack. Mr. Givens had been ill with a heart ailment for about five years. He had lived with his daughter since first becoming ill. The farm is situated two miles south of Veedersburg. Mr. Givens had lived in Veedersburg for 50 years. For many years he was an employe at the Veedersburg Brick Factory. He was born in Leavenworth, Sept. 10, 1866. His parents were William and Susan Elliott Givens. He was married to Rose Trobaugh on Oct. 27, 1902. Mrs. Givens died in 1932. He was a member of the Veedersburg Nazarene church. Survivors, in addition to Mrs. Shoaf, include two other daughters, Mrs. Mary Lou Tibbett and Mrs. Wanda Wall, both of Veedersburg; a son, Russell Givens, who also lives here; 13 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2 p. m. at the Veedersburg Nazarene church by Rev. Eugene Beam. Burial will be in Rockfield cemetery. Friends may pay their respects at the Fishero funeral home in Veedersburg.  --typed by Walt W
