Harriet L. Gillock, 62, of Linden, died at 11:07 p.m. Saturday, September 23, 2000 in St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Lafayette. Born March 19, 1938 in Covington, she had resided in Greater Lafayette most of her life. She was a matron of the Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s Department almost 13 years. She enjoyed flowers and shopping. Surviving, are: three sons, Sam Gillock of Lafayette, Steve Smith of Veedersburg and Allan Smith of Reynolds; two daughters, Melodia Norris of Muncie and Debbie (Chuck) Callahan of Blanchard, Okla.; a brother, Robert Clemence of Lafayette; a sister, Martha (Doug) Schultz of Lafayette; and ten grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother, Alta Clemence; her father, Robert Clemence; a brother, Keith Clemence; and two grandsons, Blake Gillock and Chucky Callahan. Visitation was Tuesday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel. Service there on Wednesday with Pastor Ross Terry officiating. Interment in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Covington. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or Riley Hospital for Children. – jlr
