Paul B. Gillis, 64, of Rt. 3 Floyds Knobbs, died at 2:10 a.m. Saturday in floyd County Memorial Hospital at New Albany. He was a Crawfordsville city councilman from 1959 to 1965. Mr. Gillis was a regional sales manager in Indiana and Kentucky for Meridian Mutual Insurance Co. for 10 years. He was a member of Trinity UnitedMethodist Church at New Albany, Royal Arch Masonic Lodge 40 and Rotaly Club. He was a past member of F&AM Masonic Lodge 50 and past patron of Athens Order of Eastern Start 97. He was a Kentucky Colonal. Born Jan. 23, 1912, at Crawfordsville, he was a son of Joseph and Mattie Brown. He was married to Kathryn McCroncklin on Jan. 17, 1958. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Nancy Hepburn of St. Louis; a brother Clyde of Crawfordsville; and three granchildren. A daughter, Judy, is deceased. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Hunt and Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Hunt officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home today. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart Fund or Trinity United Methodist Church. Masonic Rites will be at 8 p.m. and Eastern Star rites will be at 8:15 p.m. at the funeral home today. - kbz
