William W. Gilliland, 85, Crawfordsville, died at 3 a.m. Thursday in Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis. Mr. Gilliland farmed and raised cattle. He retired from Inland Container Corp. in 1984. His memberships included Christ Lutheran Church and the American Jersey Club. He attended New Market schools. He was born Feb. 26, 1914, in Montgomery County, to Henry Manson and Grace Baldwin Gilliland. He married Gladys L. Hester on May 1, 1932, at Crawfordsville. She died in August 1986. Survivors include a son, Robert L., Crawfordsville; a daughter, Nancy J. Money, Crawfordsville; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. A brother, Cline Austin, is deceased. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Christ Lutheran Church, 300 W. South Blvd., Crawfordsville, with the Rev. John Stacy officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery North. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Monday in Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, 315 S. Washington St., Crawfordsville.
