Joseph F. Gilliland, a retired truck driver died Friday night March 1, 1963 at Culver Hospital after failing health for two years. Born at Waveland Nov 19, 1900 he was the son of John and Louisa Moody Gilliland. In April 1944, he married Ina Smith at Crawfordsville. He attended Waveland School. He was a WWII vet. Survivors include his wife; one son Donald; mother, Mrs. Louise Gilliland; five brothers: John; Harold; Sherman; Earl; James; four sisters: Grace; Geneva; Martha; Mrs. Robert Pruitt; a granddaughter and several nieces and nephews. Services 2 p.m. Monday at Waveland Christian Church; Rev. Herbert Hugo of Chicago officiating; burial in Indian Creek Hill. - kbz
