Mrs. Esther V. Ghormley,55, of 393 N. Main St., Veedersburg, was fatally injured Friday in a one car accident 3 1/2 miles north of here on U.S. 41. State police said Mrs. Ghormley's car left the highway and struck a tree. She was northbound. The accident occurred at 11:25 a.m. and Mrs. Ghormley died at 2:15 p.m. in St. Elizabeth Hospital, Danville, Ill. Her death was attributed to multiple injuries. State Trooper Bill Burnsworth and the Fountain County Sheriff's Department investigated. Mrs. Ghormley operated the Fishero Funeral Home, Veedersburg, with her first husband Charles E. Fishero and continued with the business after his death in 1958. She later married Benjamin G. Ghormley. He now operates the funeral home. She was born July 21, 1915, in Fountain County, to Charles E and Nellie Isley Youngblood. She was a member of First Christian Church and Daughters of the American Revolution, Veedersburg chapter. She was a graduate of Veedersburg High School and Indiana College of Mortuary Science, Indianapolis. Surviving are a son, Robert c. Fishero, Veederaburg, three daughters, Mrs Carolyn Fishero Manasco, Mrs. Benita Ghormley Manasco, both Riverton, Wyo., and Charlene Fishero, at home; a brother, Ernest Youngblood, Washington D.C., four sisters, Iris Howard and Dorothy Snyder, both Veedersburg, Mrs Lyle Ramsey, Clearwater, Fla., and Mary Edward, Hillsboro; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Services were conducted by Bill Keller at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Fishero Funeral Home. Burial was in Rockfield Cemetery. -- - thanks Beth R for typing this one
