We regret to note in an exchange the death of Carl Ghormley, the eldest son of Mr. & Mrs. Justus Ghormley of Ladoga, formerly of this place. Carl grew to manhood in Waveland and graduated with the class of 1900. He was in business in Logansport at the time of his death. He leaves a wife and two children. - kbz

Carl J. Ghormley was born at Roachdale, Indiana, January 6, 1882. The family moved to Waveland in 1884, where they resided until Carl was twenty-one years old. They moved to Paris, Illinois, where he and his father entered the hardware business. Carl was married to Martha O. Coop, May 11, 1908. They moved to Logansport, Indiana, June 7, 1909, and he began work for the Prudential insurance company and had been advanced to assistant superintendent. Carl was a deacon in the Christian church and was an Odd Fellow. He became ill of the influenza and pneumonia and after sixteen days died December 1, 1918. He is survived by his wife and two daughters, Iola and Lucile, his father and mother, three sisters, Lola Cochran, Davenport, Iowa; Laila Williams, Beaumont, Tex., and Mayme Reynard, Kansas City, Missorui. Three brothers, Walter Ghormley, Holly Grove, Arkansas; Glenn, in France and Hubert, Camp Hancock, Georgia. Carl Ghormley's life was very strenuous in every way, being very active in business which brought him success. He was deeply devoted to his family and church. His wife and family will continue to reside at Logansport, Indiana.
